Rehab Matters prides itself as being a medical community that cares for the patient as a whole. The centre has professionals that are specifically trained to deal with legs and feet. Grant Monaghan is a qualified prosthetist, orthotist and podiatrist and thus has extensive knowledge and experience in dealing with the lower limb. Jessica Spence, a podiatrist is yet another professional dedicated to providing exceptional foot care.

As a medical professional that focuses on the foot and lower limb, a podiatrist is able to treat a variety of problems affecting the foot and lower limb.  The foot is a complex part of the body that experiences an array of problems that arise from normal walking. Challenges such as corns, ingrown toenails and other skin disorders related to the foot, are examined and treated on a regular basis.  Foot function and biomechanics are areas of major interest of this practice.

This practice deals with many sportsmen and women of all levels and disciplines from the Sunday afternoon jogger to national and international sportsmen.

This practice makes use of both the science and the art of biomechanical assessments. We also make use of technology such as foot scanning and new casting techniques to assist and demonstrate in assessments when required.

Apart from ailments of the foot itself, many other injuries are treated as well; including shin splints and runners knee to name a few.  Many referrals are also received for hip and back problems that are believed to be related to the functioning of the foot and lower limb.

Should orthotic devices be required, Rehab Matters has a laboratory on-site to design, manufacture and adjust your devices.

Our podiatrist is also able to assist with the management of some chronic diseases, like diabetes and arthritis that commonly affect the foot.

An area of keen interest and focus is that of the child’s foot and how to treat and monitor developing feet.

A podiatric examination is important if one is experiencing any kind of pain related to the legs and feet. Problems elsewhere in the body are often caused or aggravated by the functioning of the feet and lower limbs.

Our podiatrists Grant Monaghan and Jessica Brown are enthusiastic and look forward to providing you with high quality podiatry service.
