Who we are?
Iwe qualified as a Speech and Language Therapists from the University of Witwatersrand and immediately began to work in the field of neurological speech therapy. We are qualified in the USA to operate the VitalStim swallowing-stimulator machine.
Adult Speech and Language Therapy at RehabMatters
Speech-language therapy involves the assessment and treatment of all speech, language and swallowing difficulties, including general deficits in communication skills. It aims to help clients develop, or recover, reliable communication skills so that they can fulfil their educational, vocational, and social roles.
Adult Speech Therapy at RehabMatters has a special interest in the treatment of speech, language and swallowing difficulties resulting from neurological injury. RehabMatters is also offers the VitalStim machine to help address swallowing problems. The VitalStim is a non-invasive, FDA approved, treatment involving controlled neuromuscular electrical stimulation to strengthen the muscles of the throat used in swallowing.
